RESUMO

A school plan which begins with the understanding of children's psycho-social needs in disaster will put children first and engender support from parents and community members for active assessment and planning in their schools. This paper is intented to focus attention on the psychological impact of disasters i=on children and the need to take this information into account in the planning stages before a disaster strikes.(AU)
